…’with our minds stretched to different corners of the world, we forgot to take our own lives into account.’
This podcast episode comes from Nanhe, who captures a crucial moment during the Covid-19 pandemic.
TG: This story mentions the proximity of death.
We are really grateful that in this episode we can offer a different perspective on these last few months, this time told by a key-worker’s partner.
DISCUSSION
We talk about common responsibility that we have towards each other, as lockdown eases. We might not know everyone’s personal situation, and thus we are not aware of their struggles and fears, of their actual need for protection.
RECOMMENDATION
Nanhe is a writer and philosopher who explores the concepts of slow and intentional living and their impact on our lives. You can read her beautiful musings on her website and can see snippets of her daily life, in stunning photography and mesmerising words, on her Instagram account.
One of our favourite ever songs is ‘What good am I’ by Bob Dylan. Here is probably our favourite paragraph:
‘What good am I then to others and me
If I’ve had every chance and yet still fail to see
If my hands are tied must I not wonder within
Who tied them and why and where must I have been?’
We enjoy the interpretation on this album (Alex in particular).
